The Creekview has been a Village of Williamsville favorite for years! Situated on the banks of Ellicott Creek in an old historic building, the Creekview has been home to many hospitality venues for over 100 years. The site was the first in Amherst called the
Evans House in 1799. It was used as the Headquarters of General Winfield Scott during the War of 1812. Main Street was then called the “Great Iroquois Trail”.

In the early part of the 20th century it was a butcher shop and later a hotel called the St. Charles Hotel. The 1940’s brought it to be a tavern called Romans which lasted until 1954 after which Len and Ann Henning changed the name to Sportsmen’s Lodge.

In 1971, the name changed again to the Creekside and so did the menu with new specials and home made desserts were popular.  In 1981, The Creekside came under new ownership and the name was changed to the Creekview.  Lou and Janet Galanter operated the Creekview until 1996 at which time David and Wendy Schutte bought the Creekview and continue to operate it today.
